Breaking News:FUTO Rusticates 500 Students including Rochas Ogbonna for various offences..


About 500 students of the Federal University of Technology
Owerri have been rusticated by the school management due to
their involvement in offences against the rules and regulations of
the school.
This was disclosed by the Anti-Corruption and Transparency
Monitoring Unit FUTO ACTU Chairman, Professor N. Okeudo.
According to him, the school has shown zero tolerance for
corrupt practices by rusticating the students, banning of sale of
handouts and punishing lecturers indicted for intimate
harassment of students.
In his words, “ACTU had been involved in provision of a
Complaint Box for the school community and publication of anti-
corruption articles to sensitise school community against
corruption.
Wverve shown zero tolerance for corruption by working closely
with the school management to achieve it. Our actions had led
to the rustication of over 500 students for various offences.
We are working against illegal sales of text books and handouts.
We are investigating cases of plagiarism and bribery amongst
staff which has led to a female staff absconding.
Amongst the number of the expelled students are 6 other students including Rochas Ogbonna. This set of Students were rusticated for leading the imediate past protest....

WAEC Releases Results Of 2016 May/June WASSCE - See Performance Statistics

The West African Examination Council today released the result of the 2016 May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). It was learnt that a total of eight hundred and seventy eight thousand and forty (878,040) candidates, representing 52.97%, obtained credits in five (5) subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics. A total of 1,014,573 candidates, representing 65.70% obtained six (6) credits and above; one million one hundred sixty seven thousand four hundred and eighty four (1,167,484) candidates, representing 75.60% obtained five (5) credits and above.
