FG And ASUU To Resolve All Pending Issues Within 3 days




Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, in an
on going efforts to bring the lingering issues
between the Academic Staff Union of Universities
and the Federal Government to a stop, has
brokered a two week deadline for the two parties
to settle all pending issuesIn meeting held on Thursday which had the
senate president, Minister of education and the
leadership of ASUU in attendance, the senate
president urged the two parties to find a way to
resolve the three outstanding issues remaining.
One of the issues is that of earned allowances,
the other is the paying of the salaries and
allowances of the staff of university primary
schools and the payment of 15 per cent of the
education budget for each year to the University
Education Committees.
Both the ASUU president and the Minister of
education thanked the Senate president for his
intervention and assured him that the issues will
be resolved in 3 days.

REASON WHY FG ASK STATES TO HALT COVID19 VACCINATION HALFWAY

Mhizta fredguru reporting  The Federal Government has directed states administering the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to stop vaccination when they use half of the doses allocated to them. It was gathered that the directive was given by the Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaibu. This means that a state that was given 100,000 doses would have to stop vaccination once the doses hit 50,000 in order for those who have received their first jab to get their second. This became necessary due to a possible delay in the supply of the next batch of the AstraZeneca vaccines. The delay is caused by a surge in the demand by the European Union and a new policy by India which manufactures the vaccine. India had said last week that it would prioritise domestic vaccination for its over 1.2 billion citizens.
